Dead Bars are a Seattle punk band fronted by singer John Hughes, active for over a decade. Locally they have built a reputation as a band that turns up and plays often, becoming a familiar name on Seattle's punk bills rather than a group defined by rare appearances.

Their songs are built on straightforward, mid-tempo punk rock, with rough-edged vocals and choruses written to be shouted back by a room. The playing stays simple and direct, leaving space for the lyrics and the singalongs to carry each song.

Lyrically the band stays close to ordinary life: work, drinking, friendship, and the business of getting through an unremarkable week. Their record All Dead Bars Go To Heaven carries that further, with ten songs addressing love, loss, grief and self-acceptance, framed around the idea of a reward earned regardless of what came before it.

The band's writing leans sentimental rather than cynical, which has drawn them notice from outlets including Kerrang!, KEXP and Stereogum. They have toured alongside Streetlight Manifesto, Off With Their Heads, Iron Chic and Diesel Boy, building their audience through steady work on the road.
