Chicago melodic-hardcore vets fronted by ER doctor Daryl Wilson — fast, tuneful, and still ferocious decades on, scene service in every sense.

The Bollweevils formed in Chicago in 1989 and became a fixture of the city's punk scene, releasing records through Dr. Strange and later Red Scare. Their music is fast melodic hardcore: short songs, driving tempos, and choruses built for group vocals, delivered with the urgency of the late-eighties and early-nineties Midwest punk underground. Vocalist Daryl Wilson, an emergency room physician, has fronted the band across its original run, its breakup, and the reunions that followed, and the group has continued to play and record while its members hold down careers outside music.
