Koyo is a hardcore band from Long Island, New York, formed by musicians already active in the area's hardcore scene. The group signed to Pure Noise Records and has released a run of EPs and a full-length, moving from short, fast releases toward songs with more room for melody.
The music combines the tempo and delivery of 1990s melodic hardcore with the sung choruses and wide-open guitar lines associated with Long Island's emo and post-hardcore lineage. Sets stay short and physical, but the hooks are the part that tends to carry over afterwards.
