Scary Kids Scaring Kids formed in Gilbert, Arizona in 2002 and became part of the mid-2000s post-hardcore and emo wave. Their sound was distinguished by prominent keyboards and violin-like synth lines threaded through screamed and sung vocals, giving their songs a theatrical, melodic quality alongside the heavier passages.

The band released a run of albums during that period before going on hiatus, and has since reunited for shows drawing on that catalogue.
