Post-hardcore's great withholders — Daryl Palumbo's serrated delivery over grooves that lurch sideways, and records doled out a decade apart.

Glassjaw formed on Long Island, New York, in the early 1990s around vocalist Daryl Palumbo and guitarist Justin Beck, who have remained the band's constant members through many lineup changes. Their first two albums, Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence and Worship and Tribute, are widely cited as touchstones for post-hardcore and the wider heavy music of the 2000s, pairing Palumbo's shifts between melody and scream with angular, groove-driven guitar work. The band has released music sparingly, with long gaps between full-lengths and a scattering of EPs in between, in part because of Palumbo's health and his work in other projects including Head Automatica.
