Joe Keery's psych-pop project — vocoders, fuzz, and a genuine ear for a Tame Impala-shaped hook, well past the celebrity-side-project stage.

Djo is the musical project of Joe Keery, the actor known for his role in Stranger Things, who also spent time playing guitar in the Chicago garage-rock band Post Animal. Recording under the Djo name, Keery works in a psychedelic vein built on vocoder-processed vocals, warm analogue synthesizers and fuzzed guitar, with songs that lean on repetition and shifting textures as much as on melody.

The project's widest exposure came with "End of Beginning", a slow-building song about leaving Chicago that circulated heavily on social media well after its initial release and became Keery's best-known track by a considerable margin. Live, Djo performs with a full band, and Keery has generally kept the presentation low-key relative to his screen profile.
