Dope Lemon
Angus Stone's hazy side project — slacker psych for a very late afternoon, all languid grooves and heavy-lidded charm.
Dope Lemon is the solo project of Australian musician Angus Stone, one half of the duo Angus & Julia Stone. He launched it in 2016 with the album Honey Bones, and has continued releasing records under the name since, including Smooth Big Cat and Rose Pink Cadillac. The music is slower and hazier than his work with his sister, built on loose grooves, reverbed guitar and low, half-spoken vocals, with a psychedelic edge.
Stone is based in the Byron Bay region of New South Wales, and performs Dope Lemon material live with a full band.
