Wales's beloved psych-pop pranksters, reunited — techno tanks and golden melodies, national-treasure status long confirmed, Welsh weirdness in full bloom.

Super Furry Animals formed in Cardiff in 1993, growing out of the Welsh-language music scene around Cardiff and north Wales. Fronted by Gruff Rhys, the band built a catalogue that ran from scrappy guitar pop through orchestral psychedelia, electronica and studio-heavy experiments, often recording in both English and Welsh — their album Mwng was sung entirely in Welsh.

Their reputation rests as much on melody as on mischief: songs like 'Something 4 The Weekend', 'Northern Lites' and 'Juxtapozed With U' sit alongside a long history of unusual live presentation, including the techno-blaring tank they bought and toured in the 1990s. The group went on hiatus at the end of the 2000s before reuniting for further live shows.
