Toronto punks who grew out of ska into gravel-throated, big-hearted melodic punk. A modern Fest cornerstone with a knack for the last-song-of-the-night singalong.

The Flatliners formed in Ontario in 2002 and spent their early years playing ska punk, a style documented on their first album before the horns fell away. What followed was a steady move toward faster, heavier melodic punk, with Chris Cresswell's hoarse delivery at the centre and songs built around choruses meant to be shouted back.

The band has long been associated with Fat Wreck Chords, and their records have gradually widened in scope, taking in slower tempos and more considered arrangements without abandoning the urgency of the earlier material. They remain a fixture of the Canadian punk scene and a regular presence on North American and European tours.
