Steve Aoki is an American DJ, producer and label owner. He founded Dim Mak Records in the mid-1990s, initially as an outlet for punk and indie bands, and the label later became a home for electro house and other dance music. He is the son of Rocky Aoki, the founder of the Benihana restaurant chain.

As a performer Aoki is known for high-energy shows built on electro house and festival EDM, with stage antics including throwing cake into the crowd and riding inflatable rafts over the audience. His records feature a long list of collaborators from pop, hip-hop and rock, and he keeps a heavy touring schedule year-round.
