The Lawrence brothers made UK garage a global pop language, and still build the crispest, most vocal-forward house sets going.
Disclosure is the duo of brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence, raised in Reigate, Surrey. They emerged around 2012 with a run of singles that reworked the swing and bass weight of UK garage into something built for pop radio, and their debut album Settle followed in 2013. Its tracks leaned heavily on guest vocalists, among them Sam Smith on "Latch", AlunaGeorge on "White Noise" and Eliza Doolittle on "You & Me".
Later records, including Caracal, continued the collaborative approach while the brothers kept a hand in club-facing material under their own steam. Live and in DJ sets they favour clean, vocal-led house and two-step rhythms, with Howard often singing and playing bass alongside Guy's drums and electronics.
