Swedish club provocateur making hard, latex-slick electronic pop for rooms with the lights off — fetish-fashion aesthetics welded to genuinely heavy club production.

Cobrah was born Clara Christensen in Gothenburg, Sweden, in 1996. She trained as a flautist, studied musical theatre in high school, and used to hide goth clothing in her backpack to change into before class. Before recording music she worked as a primary school music teacher.

Her music sits in a hard, percussive strain of electronic pop, drawing on techno, ballroom and industrial club sounds. Tracks are built around blunt, repetitive hooks and heavy low end rather than conventional pop structures, and her lyrics deal openly with sex, control and queer club culture.

Fetish-influenced styling and body-focused choreography run through her videos and live shows. She has released her work largely independently, through EPs and singles, and it has circulated widely in club and dance-adjacent scenes.

She moved to Berlin in 2017 to find collaborators, settling on producers Hannes Roover and Isaac Hördegård. Under her own label, GAGBALL Records, she released the single 'IDFKA' in 2018, its video earning a Swedish Grammis nomination. The EP Icon followed in 2019, then a self-titled EP in 2021 that was itself nominated for a Grammis, spawning the single 'Good Puss,' later remixed with Cupcakke.

In 2023 she signed her distribution rights to Atlantic Records and released the EP Succubus, which won a Swedish Grammi in the Electro/Dance category the following year. She toured North America on a fourteen-date run in 2024.
