Drumcode's founder and techno's most consistent brand — Swedish precision at 128 BPM.

Adam Beyer, born Adam Thomas Beyer on 15 May 1976 in Stockholm, has been a central figure in European techno since the mid-1990s. He emerged alongside fellow Swedish producers Cari Lekebusch and Jesper Dahlbäck as part of a wave that put Stockholm on the techno map before Beyer founded Drumcode there in 1996.

Under Beyer, Drumcode grew from a Stockholm label into one of techno's most recognisable imprints, with an associated radio show and long-running event series. That radio show, Drumcode Live, now draws a weekly audience reported at around 11 million, making it one of the most widely heard broadcasts in electronic dance music.

His productions favour stripped-back, drum-led techno built on tight loops and gradual tension rather than obvious drops, a template that carried over into the label's roster. His DJ sets are typically long and functional, built for sustained club and festival crowds rather than quick peaks.

Beyer has also recorded collaboratively, including work with Ida Engberg, to whom he was married and with whom he has three daughters, and material issued under other aliases and partnerships. The marriage has since ended, but the musical partnership helped define Drumcode's sound through the 2010s.
