X CLUB. is a Brisbane techno group whose sets lean on hard, fast kick patterns and breakbeat rhythms rather than the steadier pulse of more conventional four-to-the-floor techno. The project emerged from Australia's warehouse and underground party scene, and its recorded output and DJ sets share a preference for high tempos, distorted percussion and rave-era signifiers such as sirens and pitched-up vocal stabs. The group has become one of the more recognisable names associated with the resurgence of hard dance and breaks-influenced techno in Australia.
