Berlin lifer, record-shop owner and label boss — classic-leaning house mixed with the crate depth of someone who's been there since the 90s.
Cinthie Christl started DJing in Berlin in the 1990s and has stayed close to the city's house scene ever since, as a producer, a label owner and a co-owner of the Elevate record shop. She was part of the Beste Modus collective and runs 803 Crystal Grooves, which puts out most of her own material.
Her tracks lean on the vocabulary of 90s American house and garage: swung drum machine programming, chopped vocal samples, warm chords held long enough to settle. She also performs live using hardware, building tracks from drum machines and synths rather than playing them back finished, and her DJ sets pull older records in alongside her own.
