Ellen Allien is a DJ, producer and label head from Berlin who has been active since the 1990s, when she began DJing in the city's post-reunification club scene. She founded BPitch Control in 1999, releasing her own albums alongside work by Modeselektor, Paul Kalkbrenner and others, and later started the label Ufo Inc. Her productions range from electro and IDM-leaning material to harder, faster techno, and her DJ sets draw on the same breadth. She has also worked in fashion and design alongside her music.
