MOOD label boss playing dark, tribal-leaning techno with a heavy emphasis on groove — delivered with marathon-set stamina.

Nicole Moudaber was born on 19 January 1977 in Ibadan, Nigeria, to a Lebanese family. She began her career promoting dance parties in Beirut during the 1990s before relocating to London, where she studied DJing at Pointblank music school and began building her own sets and productions.

Her sound stays in dark, percussive techno, built on tribal drum patterns and drawn-out grooves suited to the long sets she has become known for. Carl Cox noticed her work in 2009 and signed her to his Intec label, and she released her debut album, Believe, on Drumcode in 2013.

She founded MOOD Records in 2013 and launched the weekly In The MOOD radio show the following year, which now broadcasts across more than fifty countries on over seventy FM stations. She serves as an ambassador for the Association For Electronic Music alongside artists including Armin van Buuren and Pete Tong.

Her collaborations with Skin of Skunk Anansie began with the 2015 Breed EP, followed by a remix package the next year featuring reworks from Carl Craig and Jamie Jones among others. She is also a public advocate for the Lower Eastside Girls Club, which supports young women pursuing careers in music.
