Gossamer French avant-pop — choral synths and whispered melody, songs that feel lit by candles and screens at once.

Oklou is the recording name of Marylou Mayniel, a French singer, producer and classically trained musician from the Poitiers area. She emerged through the same loose network of European club and internet-pop producers that surrounded PC Music and Paris's electronic underground, and her own work pulls away from the dancefloor toward something quieter: soft, layered vocals, choral-sounding synth pads and beats that often dissolve mid-song. The 2020 mixtape Galore established that approach, and she has continued to write, produce and arrange her own material, occasionally collaborating with producers from the club scene while keeping her records built around intimacy and space.
