Bob Moses

1 festival played

Canadian duo blurring house music and moody guitar-band songwriting — church-dark grooves played live, splitting the difference between a DJ set and a rock show.

Bob Moses is a Canadian duo of Tom Howie and Jimmy Vallance, who grew up in Vancouver and later reconnected in New York, where the project took shape. Their music sits between deep house and songwriting-driven indie rock: four-to-the-floor rhythms and warm analogue synths underneath Howie's low, restrained vocals and guitar.

The pair are known for performing as a live band rather than a DJ act, building tracks on stage with instruments and hardware. "Tearing Me Up" brought them wider attention, and their records have generally kept the same balance of club-length grooves and conventional verse-chorus structure.
