Former competitive hockey player turned producer, making trap with unusual emotional range — heavy drops with a bruised heart.

Caroline Cecil was born in Toronto and moved with her family to Nanaimo, on Vancouver Island. She began figure skating at two and became a competitive skater by eight, spending her childhood travelling to competitions with hopes of reaching the Canadian Olympic team. At eighteen she broke her ankle badly enough to need surgery and a metal plate, and she left the sport to pursue music instead.

She taught herself production using Ableton Live and a Traktor controller after seeing Active Child perform at the Sasquatch! Music Festival in 2012, spending two years learning before releasing her first single as Whipped Cream in 2014. Her early work already showed the pull between heavy low end and melody that still defines her records.

Her debut EP, Law of Attraction, came out in 2015, the same year she first performed at Shambhala Music Festival. Nest HQ, Skrillex's platform, premiered several of her tracks in 2016, and she followed with the Mirrors EP alongside Hekler and the solo EP Persistence, whose single "Ignorant" has passed seven million streams on Spotify.

Whipped Cream signed to Atlantic's Big Beat Records in 2019 and released her major label debut EP, Who Is Whipped Cream?, in August 2020, gathering singles that included features with Lil Xan, Jasiah and Lil Keed. She later moved to Monstercat, releasing Someone You Can Count On in 2023 and Is This Real? in 2024, and debuted a new project called Careline at Amsterdam Dance Event.
