Producer's producer — sound design so intricate that other artists study his sessions, drops built like Swiss watches.

Virtual Riot is the project of Christian Valentin "Val" Brunn, born 20 July 1994, based in Munich. Before adopting that name he produced ambient dubstep and future garage under the alias Your Personal Tranquilizer, moving into the online bass music scene of the 2010s with dubstep, riddim, drum and bass and complextro tracks and remixes that circulated widely on streaming and video platforms.

He is best known among other producers for his sound design and arrangement, and has released sample packs, presets and tutorial material that many younger bass music artists have learned from directly. His own tracks are dense and precisely edited, often shifting tempo and style within a single piece, and his sets tend to be similarly quick-cutting.

Brunn signed to Disciple Recordings in 2014, releasing hits like "One For All, All For One" with Razihel and "Cali Born" with Helicopter Showdown that topped Beatport charts. His 2016 EP Chemistry reached number 20 on Billboard's Dance/Electronic Albums chart, and 2018's German Engineering climbed to number 11 on the Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart.

He signed a publishing deal with Skrillex's OWSLA in 2019 and released his debut studio album, Simulation, on Disciple Recordings in 2021. He later moved to Monstercat, issuing Stealing Fire in 2024 and Burning Out in 2026, bringing his total output to seventeen EPs and three studio albums.
