French producer whose acid-heavy techno sits somewhere between rave nostalgia and something meaner — fast, playful, and increasingly one of Europe's most in-demand selectors.

Anetha was born in 1989 in Bordeaux and grew up listening to Kraftwerk through her father, an amateur DJ who introduced her to techno. She has no classical musical training and originally trained and graduated in architecture before turning to music full time.

She started mixing at sixteen and began her career as a professional DJ in 2013, spending several months in London where she played clubs including Corsica Studios and recorded her first sessions in the home studio of her sound-engineer roommates. Back in Paris, she built her own studio in her apartment.

Her productions and sets lean on acid lines, fast tempos and hardware-driven percussion, drawing on 1990s rave and trance as much as on contemporary techno. As a resident of the Blocaus collective's parties, she played Parisian venues including Concrete, La Machine du Moulin Rouge and Rex Club from 2014 onward.

From 2015 she began playing abroad, at venues including Bassiani in Tbilisi, De School in Amsterdam, Village Underground in London, Fuse in Brussels and Berghain in Berlin, later adding dates in Tokyo. Her 2017 track "Acid Train" was named among Mix magazine's twenty best techno songs of the decade, and a 2018 Boiler Room set recorded in Amsterdam was ranked among the year's best in the genre.

She founded the Mama Told Ya label in 2019, using it to release her own music and to platform other artists working in a similar vein, and went on to launch Mama Loves Ya, a collective promoting ecological transition within nightlife. That year she also played festival dates including DGTL, Dour, Weather, Soenda and Solidays.
