Atarashii Gakko!
Four Tokyo performers in school uniforms doing chaotic, precisely choreographed pop that refuses to sit still — equal parts idol group, dance troupe, and controlled demolition.
Atarashii Gakko! (also known as Atarashii Gakko no Leaders) is a Japanese group formed in Tokyo, made up of Suzuka, Mizyu, Kanon and Rin. The four perform in sailor-style school uniforms and build their act around dense, unison choreography paired with pop that borrows from Shōwa-era kayōkyoku, funk, rock and hip-hop.
Signed to 88rising, the group has drawn attention outside Japan as much for its physical performance style — exaggerated gestures, sudden freezes, floor work — as for the songs themselves. Suzuka's low, forceful lead vocal is a fixture, and the group's public presentation leans on a theme of individuality against conformity.
