Welsh art-pop's crooked genius — angular, elegant songs bent at fascinating angles, and a home-turf hero on any Welsh bill.

Cate Le Bon is a Welsh singer, songwriter and producer from Carmarthenshire. She sings in both Welsh and English, and her early work drew comparisons to Nico and the Velvet Underground for its flat-toned delivery and angular guitar playing. Later records moved toward a more spacious art-pop, using woodwind, synthesiser and unusual harmonic turns in place of conventional rock arrangements.

Alongside her own albums she works as a producer for other artists and has collaborated with several figures in the experimental pop world, including a duo project with Tim Presley. She also trained in furniture making, an interest she has described as feeding into her approach to songwriting.
