Orlando Higginbottom, formerly Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs — euphoric, vocal-led house from one of the UK's most melodic producers, ten years past the headdress.

TEED is Orlando Tobias Edward Higginbottom, born March 7, 1986, the son of Edward Higginbottom, formerly conductor of the choir of New College, Oxford. He was educated at Abingdon School and Cherwell School and trained classically at the Junior Royal Academy of Music in London before turning to electronic production.

He first got into electronic music as a teenager, borrowing tapes from older siblings. He has said he chose the name Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs deliberately because it could not be absorbed into a passing scene, and he performed under it for years with elaborate animal headdresses and costumes before shortening it to TEED.

His records pair club structures with sung melodies and his own vocals, favouring melodic, emotionally direct house over strictly functional dance music, a style formed at the meeting point of house, UK garage and indie pop.

His 2012 debut album, Trouble, released on Polydor, drew praise from the NME, Pitchfork and the BBC, was named iTunes UK's Debut Electronic Album of the Year, and won DJ Magazine's Album of the Year and Best Live Act.

He curated the Get Lost VI compilation for Crosstown Rebels in 2013 and launched his own label, Nice Age, in 2014. Under the TEED name he has since released the EP The Distance (2021) and the album When the Lights Go (2022), both on Nice Age.
