RÜFÜS DU SOL are a Sydney trio made up of Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George and James Hunt, who formed around 2010 and originally recorded simply as Rüfüs, adding the second half of the name for international releases. Their music combines house and techno structures with live instrumentation and sung vocals, built around long builds and extended instrumental passages.

Albums including Atlas, Bloom, Solace and Surrender charted strongly in Australia and gradually widened their audience abroad, particularly in the United States, where the group later based itself in Los Angeles. Their concerts are performed as a live band rather than a DJ set, with drums, guitar and synthesisers on stage.
