Wax Motif is the Australian-born, Los Angeles-based producer and DJ Danny Chien. He works mainly in bass house and G-house, favouring swung, garage-inflected rhythms, heavy low end and vocal samples chopped into hooks, and he runs the Divided Souls label as an outlet for his own music and other artists in the same lane.
His sets lean on that same combination of house swing and sub-heavy drops, and he has released through several of the larger dance imprints as well as collaborating widely with other producers in the bass house scene.
