Sydney hardcore that went global fast — brotherhood-forward lyrics and riffs built entirely for the pile-on, community as the whole point.

Jem Siow fronted Sydney band Your Ghost Is a Gift as a teenager, which became Endless Heights in 2009 and released two albums before splitting in 2019. That same year he formed SPEED with his brother Aaron Siow on bass, guitarists Joshua Clayton and Dennis Vichidvongsa, and drummer Kane Vardon.

The band self-released a demo EP through Last Ride Records in October 2019, then signed to Flatspot Records the following year. Early singles included "A Dumb Dog Gets Flogged", written in response to the Australian government's handling of the 2019-2020 bushfires, paired with "Devil U Know" on the 2020 Flex EP.

Their official debut EP, Gang Called Speed, arrived in 2022 and entered the ARIA charts at number five. Its lead single, "Not That Nice", addressed anti-Asian hate crimes, and later turned up on the soundtrack to WWE 2K24, curated by the band's friend Post Malone.

Only One Mode, released in 2024, won the ARIA Award for Best Hard Rock or Heavy Metal Album. The record extended the band's reach far beyond Australia, building on the momentum from Gang Called Speed and the WWE placement.

In October 2025 the band released a further EP, All My Angels. Their song "The First Test" was later used as the theme for AEW's Grand Slam Australia, a wrestling event held at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, in February 2026.
