Moroccan-Canadian vocal powerhouse — dramatic, belt-heavy pop with runs that stop scrollers mid-thumb, technique that turns ballads into main events.

Faouzia Ouihya, who records simply as Faouzia, was born in Casablanca, Morocco, and raised in Carman, Manitoba. She began writing and posting music as a teenager and drew attention for a voice built on wide range, heavy melisma and sustained belting.

Her work sits mostly in dramatic pop, often with orchestral or electronic production and occasional nods to North African melody and ornamentation. She is known for the single "Tears of Gold" and for "Minefields," a duet with John Legend, alongside collaborations with dance and electronic producers. Her live sets tend to foreground the voice itself, with ballads arranged as centrepieces.
