Role Model is Tucker Pillsbury, a singer and songwriter from Cape Elizabeth, Maine. He began releasing music independently in the late 2010s before signing to Interscope, working in a guitar-inflected strain of pop that keeps close to bedroom-recording informality even as the production has grown. His songs tend toward self-deprecating accounts of relationships, sung in a conversational register. The single "Sally, When the Wine Runs Out" brought him a much wider audience, and his live shows have become known for the audience participation that grew up around it.
