Hamdi is a British producer and DJ working at the meeting point of UK bass, garage and dubstep. His tracks tend to build on halftime and 2-step rhythms with heavy sub weight, sparse drum programming and vocal samples drawn from dancehall and MC culture, a combination closer to soundsystem tradition than to festival-scale EDM. "Skanka" brought him to wider attention and became a fixture in bass and garage sets, and his subsequent releases have kept to the same template of restrained arrangements and low-end pressure.
