Lainey Wilson comes from Baskin, a small farming community in northeast Louisiana, and moved to Nashville in her late teens, spending several years living in a camper trailer while writing and playing shows. She broke through with "Things a Man Oughta Know," followed by the album Bell Bottom Country and songs including "Heart Like a Truck" and "Watermelon Moonshine."
Her music mixes traditional country storytelling with rock and soul phrasing, delivered in a thick Louisiana accent. She has won CMA Entertainer of the Year and a Grammy for Best Country Album, and also appeared as a version of herself, the musician Abby, in the television series Yellowstone.
