UK producer and remixer whose fingerprints are on a generation of the genre's defining records.

Andy Moor was born Andrew Beardmore in 1980 and started playing piano at five, picking up several more instruments by the age of ten despite having no formal musical training beyond school lessons. He began mixing records at thirteen, signed his first release at nineteen, and by twenty-five had launched his own label, AVA Recordings.

He is one half of the duo Leama & Moor, whose 2006 album Common Ground drew vocal contributions from artists as varied as Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne, Orbital, Tiësto, Brian Eno and Paul Oakenfold. He has also recorded under other names, including Tilt, Whiteroom and Zoo DJs, and produced Tilt's album Explorer.

Much of his visibility has come through remixing: he has reworked a long list of vocal trance and dance records, and his production style, melodic and layered with long builds rather than blunt drops, became a reference point for other producers. His remix of Delerium's "Angelicus," featuring Isabel Bayrakdarian, earned a Grammy nomination in 2007.

Collaborations have brought further recognition: his work with Above & Beyond on "Air For Life" was named Tune of the Year by listeners of Armin van Buuren's A State of Trance radio show in 2005, and won Best Underground Dance Track at that year's Miami Winter Music Conference. Moor has also picked up Best Trance Producer and Best Trance Track honours at the Trance Awards.

His solo debut album, Zero Point One, arrived in 2012 with contributions from vocalists Meredith Call, Carrie Skipper, Sue McLaren and Betsie Larkin, and producers Orkidea and Ashley Wallbridge. He has also mixed compilation series including Ministry of Sound's Trance Nation and ASOT 500, alongside his own Breaking the Silence series on AVA Recordings.
