DJ Diesel is Shaquille O'Neal, the center who spent nineteen seasons in the NBA with the Magic, Lakers, Heat, Suns, Cavaliers and Celtics, winning four championships. Music came alongside the basketball: he put out rap records in the 1990s, starting with Shaq Diesel in 1993, and the Diesel nickname carried over from his playing days.
He turned to DJing in earnest in the 2010s, and the sets sit at the heavy end of bass music, dubstep and trap edits played loud, with O'Neal working the front of the stage as much as the decks. He is a large man in a jersey encouraging a room full of people to crash into each other, and he does it with obvious enjoyment.
