Álvaro Lafuente grew up in Benicàssim, on the Valencian coast, and began circulating home-recorded guitar performances online in his late teens, which is where the Guitarricadelafuente name took hold. He sings in Spanish, mostly over his own guitar, and draws on copla and flamenco singing more than on the singer-songwriter tradition he is usually filed beside. His debut album, Spanish Leather, arrived in 2024 and widened the palette without crowding the vocal out.
