American indie-pop group with a brief run at the turn of the millennium — cheap keyboards, fast hooks and sugar, done and gone by 2001.

Wolfie formed in 1996 in Champaign, Illinois, part of the same central-Illinois pop scene that grew up around Parasol Records, which issued much of the band's output. The group worked in the overlap between twee and power pop, with boy-girl vocals and short songs, and was often mentioned alongside other American bands reviving the jangly, lo-fi end of indie pop in the late 1990s. Wolfie stopped in 2001, and its members went on to other projects.
