Friction is a British drum and bass DJ and producer who spent several years hosting the genre's flagship show on BBC Radio 1, a position that made him one of the most visible advocates for the music on national radio. He also runs the Shogun Audio label, which has released work by a broad range of drum and bass artists. As a DJ he tends to move across the genre's subdivisions in a single set rather than sticking to one tempo or mood, mixing liquid, jump-up and heavier techstep material. His own productions and vocal collaborations have circulated widely within the scene.
