Sub Focus is the recording name of Nick Douwma, a producer and DJ from Guildford in England. He emerged through the drum and bass scene in the mid-2000s, releasing on Ram Records, and became known for a bright, heavily engineered take on the genre that leans on big melodic hooks and clean, high-impact sound design.
His work has moved between drum and bass, house and other dance tempos over the years, and he has collaborated repeatedly with fellow producer Wilkinson. Live, he has performed both as a DJ and with a full audiovisual production, and his tracks are widely played across British dance radio and festival sound systems.
