Australian tech house built for the moment the whole field sings back — big, simple basslines and a vocal you'll still be humming at breakfast.

Dom Dolla is the recording name of Dominic Matheson, born in Manila, Philippines, to Australian parents and raised in Darwin, Northern Territory. He moved to Melbourne as a teenager, discovered house and electronic music, and attended Kew High School. He initially studied design, focusing on typography and logo work, before his manager convinced him to pursue music full-time.

He works primarily in tech house, building tracks around uncluttered, heavily weighted basslines and vocal hooks designed to carry across large rooms and outdoor crowds. His debut single, 'The Boxer', appeared in 2013, and he built a run of ARIA Club Chart number ones over the following decade, including 'Define', 'You' and 'Be Randy'.

He came to wider notice with 'Take It', and has since had a run of singles including 'San Frandisco', 'Pump the Brakes' and 'Miracle Maker', alongside further chart-topping club tracks such as 'Moving Blind', 'Rhyme Dust', 'Eat Your Man' and 'Saving Up'. He won the ARIA Award for Best Dance Release for 'San Frandisco' in 2020 and for 'Rhyme Dust', with MK, in 2023.

He has also collaborated repeatedly with fellow Australian producer Sonny Fodera, and worked with a wider range of artists, earning a Grammy nomination for 'New Gold' featuring Gorillaz, Tame Impala and Bootie Brown, and a Juno nomination for 'Eat Your Man' featuring Nelly Furtado. His music has found a substantial audience outside Australia, particularly in the United States and the United Kingdom, and he performs mainly as a DJ.
