Dutch producer whose breakout single became one of the most-played club records of its year — 'Drugs from Amsterdam' bounce, still going.

Mau P is the alias of Maurice West, a Dutch producer from Amsterdam who had previously released big-room and electro house records under his own name before switching to a house and techno sound in 2022.

His debut single as Mau P, "Drugs From Amsterdam," appeared in August 2022 and went straight to number one on Beatport's main chart. Reinier Zonneveld and Armand van Helden both produced official remixes, and Billboard later named it one of the year's fifty best dance tracks.

A follow-up, "Metro," made with Kevin de Vries, was ranked among Billboard's best dance tracks of 2023, extending the same formula of dry drums, heavy basslines and repeated vocal phrases across subsequent singles.

He entered DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs list at number 91 in 2024 and rose to 77 the following year, alongside a continuing international touring schedule.
