Sun-soaked tech house on the rise — California grooves tuned for pool decks and peak hour alike.

Max Styler is an American DJ and producer from San Luis Obispo County, California, born in 1996. He began producing at sixteen, teaching himself production, before coming up through the bass-house and electro end of American dance music and settling into tech house.

Manager Johnny Kenny of Collective Efforts discovered his early tracks and helped him sign to Steve Aoki's Dim Mak label at eighteen. Dim Mak released singles including 'Knock Me Down' with Makj and Elayna Boynton and 'Heroes' with Nevve, and Styler toured China with Aoki in 2017. In 2019 'Let Me Take You There,' with Laura White, topped Sirius XM's Diplo's Revolution chart.

His productions lean on rolling basslines, clipped vocal hooks and stripped-back percussion built for long, groove-driven sets rather than sharp drops. Sets favour momentum over spectacle, working through house and tech house at a steady clip, and he mixes and masters all his own music.

Since 2022 Styler has released through Experts Only, Repopulate Mars, Realm, Insomniac and other dance labels. In 2024 he had six No. 1 tracks on Beatport, finished the year as its No. 7 highest-selling artist overall, and was named Dancing Astronaut's Breakout Artist of the Year, with his touring schedule growing from around 28 dates in 2023 to more than 50.

In 2025 he launched his own label, Nu Moda, opening with the single 'You & Me,' which reached No. 1 on Beatport's Indie Dance chart. He finished that year as Beatport's top-selling Indie Dance artist and was named a 1001Tracklists top producer, while his touring schedule expanded to nearly 100 dates across multiple continents.
