British tech-house producer with a taste for rolling basslines and vocal loops that lodge in your head for a week.

David Esekhile, born in 1992 and working under the name PAWSA, grew up in London and began releasing music in 2014 with the EP Pilot on Lost Records. A year earlier he had met fellow producer Michael Bibi at a London warehouse party, and in 2015 the two co-founded Solid Grooves Records, a label whose parties came to define a strand of the tech-house scene. PAWSA later launched his own imprint, PAWZ, in 2017 for tracks that fell outside that label's sound.

His productions favour rolling, elastic basslines and repeated vocal fragments, built for long stretches on a dancefloor rather than for peak-time payoffs, and his music has been described as inventive tech house with an old-school feel. He held a summer residency at Sankeys Ibiza and has toured extensively across Europe.

In 2024, 'Pick Up the Phone,' built around a looped vocal sample from Nate Dogg's 'Gangsta Walk,' reached the UK Top 50. He followed it with a cover of Dennis Edwards and Siedah Garrett's 'Don't Look Any Further,' then 'Collect the Commas' on CircoLoco Records, and a rework of 'Dirty Cash (Money Talks)' that reached number 3 on the UK Dance chart with nearly 57 million Spotify streams.

PAWSA was invited to record a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, and in 2025 his track 'Double C' featured on the soundtrack to the film F1. He also records as one half of GOLFOS, alongside Spanish producer Dennis Cruz, and produces the Treasure Series, an anonymous run of minimal tech-house reworks limited to 250 physical copies each. In 2021 he won Best Producer at the DJ Mag Best of Britain awards.
