Creeper
Southampton's theatrical horror-punk, committed to the concept album and the costume change in equal measure — AFI drama with a British music-hall streak.
Creeper formed in Southampton in 2014 around vocalist Will Gould and guitarist Ian Miles, both previously involved in the local punk scene. Their early EPs drew on horror punk and melodic hardcore before the debut album, Eternity, in Your Arms, widened the frame considerably, adding gothic rock, piano ballads and a running narrative populated by recurring characters.
Since then the band has leaned further into concept records and staged presentation, with each album cycle arriving with its own story, visual language and costuming. The music mixes punk urgency with glam and goth influences, and Gould's vocals sit somewhere between snarl and croon. Live, Creeper treats the show as theatre as much as a gig.
