Venezuelan harpist Larry Bellorín and North Carolina banjoist Joe Troop trade llanera and Appalachian repertoire across harp, cuatro, banjo, fiddle and maracas.

Larry & Joe pairs Larry Bellorín, a harpist and singer from the Venezuelan llanos, with Joe Troop, a North Carolina banjo player and fiddler who spent years in South America and led the string band Che Apalache. The two met in North Carolina and built a repertoire that moves between joropo and llanera music and Appalachian old-time and bluegrass, often within a single set. Between them they cover harp, cuatro, banjo, fiddle, guitar and maracas, and both sing. Their performances tend to be conversational, with the pair explaining the origins of the tunes and, in Bellorín's case, drawing on his experience arriving in the United States as an asylum seeker.
