Argentine-born, Spain-based performer who moves between rapping, salsa and torch-song belting, often within a single track. Big-voiced and theatrical with it.

Nathy Peluso was born Natalia Peluso in Luján, Argentina, in 1995 and raised in the Saavedra neighborhood of Buenos Aires, the daughter of a psychologist and an English teacher and children's author. She moved to Spain with her family at nine, settling in Alicante, and later lived in Murcia, Madrid and Barcelona, where she now resides.

As a teenager in Torrevieja she sang covers of Frank Sinatra, Etta James and Nina Simone in hotels and restaurants, and posted early recordings to YouTube. She studied audiovisual communication in Murcia and fine arts and dance pedagogy in Madrid, working as a waitress along the way, before hip-hop took hold of her writing through a sideline in instant poetry.

Her early tracks rap over jazz and soul samples; later records widened into salsa, boleros and funk, with a voice she pushes from a conversational drawl into full-throated belting. Videos and live shows lean on costume and choreography, and she performs the songs in character as much as she sings them.

She self-released the mixtape Esmeralda in 2017 and La Sandunguera in 2018 before signing to Sony Music Spain. Her album Calambre arrived in 2020, pairing hip-hop verses with horn-driven salsa, and won the Latin Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album. That year she also recorded a session with the Argentine producer Bizarrap that spread her name across Latin America.

She released Grasa in 2024, and has recorded with Christina Aguilera, Karol G and C. Tangana, whose duet "Ateo" topped the Spanish charts. Her work has been recognized with six Premios Gardel, one Premio Odeón and five Latin Grammy Awards from fourteen nominations.
