Olivia Rodrigo is an American singer and songwriter who began as an actor on Disney television before releasing music under her own name. Her debut album SOUR moved between spare piano ballads and distorted guitar-driven tracks, and its follow-up, GUTS, pushed further into pop-punk and power-pop territory.
Her writing is direct and detailed, often centred on adolescent anger, jealousy and heartbreak, and she has worked closely with producer Dan Nigro across her records. Live, she performs with a full band, and the shows swing between quiet solo moments and full-volume rock arrangements.
