Tyrese

1 festival played

Watts-raised singer who parlayed modelling and a commercial jingle into a durable R&B career alongside blockbuster acting — a big, unhurried voice built for slow jams.

Tyrese Gibson emerged in the late 1990s as an R&B singer with a warm, elastic baritone suited to ballads and mid-tempo grooves. His self-titled debut arrived in 1998 and produced "Sweet Lady," and he followed it with further albums through the 2000s and 2010s, including the singles "How You Gonna Act Like That" and "Sweet Lady"'s successors in a catalogue built largely around romance and slow-burning arrangements.

Alongside his solo work he formed the trio TGT with Tank and Ginuwine, and he has maintained a parallel career as an actor, most visibly in the Fast & Furious and Transformers franchises. Live, he leans on the strengths of his recorded material: sustained notes, long-held phrases, and a delivery that favours patience over ornament.
