Bo Ningen
Japanese four-piece based in London, playing long, distortion-heavy psych rock with vocals delivered in Japanese at full shriek.
Bo Ningen formed in London in 2006, made up of four Japanese musicians who met after moving to the UK separately. Taigen Kawabe sings in Japanese and plays bass, and the band builds long pieces out of repetition, feedback and heavily distorted guitar, closer to Japanese psych and noise rock than to anything in the London scene around them. They have worked with Savages, recording the collaborative piece "Words to the Blind" with them, and their live shows are known for their volume and length.
