Champion is a London DJ and producer who came up through UK funky and grime, and whose early work circulated through pirate radio and the city's club networks. His productions are percussion-led and economical, drawing on funky's syncopated drum patterns alongside garage, house and elements of amapiano, and they are generally built for DJ use rather than home listening. He runs the 4 To The Floor label and has become a recognisable name in the current wave of UK club music, with radio work supporting the releases.
