Jeff Rosenstock

No festival dates we track

Long Island punk lifer who ran Bomb the Music Industry! on a pay-what-you-want model and still drops records with no warning.

Jeff Rosenstock spent the 2000s leading Bomb the Music Industry!, a Long Island band that gave its records away free, silkscreened shirts at shows and let the audience play instruments onstage. He ran the Quote Unquote label on the same principle.

His solo records keep the horns, the multi-tracked backing shouts and the abrupt tempo shifts, with songs about burnout, rent and political exhaustion that tend to end in a group singalong. Several have appeared online with no announcement, released at midnight on New Year's Day. He also recorded a ska version of one of his own albums and has scored animated television.
